Chartwell House Launches 3rd Annual Festive Food Pantry
On Saturday, 14th December, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Chartwell House by Boutique Care Homes will host its 3rd annual Festive Food Pantry at St Christopher’s Church, Princess Margaret Avenue, Newington, Ramsgate, Kent, CT12 6LG. Organised in partnership with the Parish of St Laurence and Newington Primary School, this initiative aims to provide essential support to local families facing food poverty during the Christmas season.
Since its launch in 2022, the Festive Food Pantry has supported over 100 families, thanks to the unity and generosity of the community. This year, Chartwell House hopes to extend its reach, focusing on families connected to the Newington Estate and Newington Primary School. With the added financial strain over the holidays, the initiative aims to bring comfort to those in need.
Adding extra festive cheer, Inspiring Positive Futures Newington, an Orbit-supported community group, will transform the church grounds into a winter wonderland. Families can enjoy this magical setup, complete with a special visit from Father Christmas, making it a memorable experience for all.
To support the pantry, Chartwell House welcomes donations of:
- Tinned & Jar Food
- Non-perishable Food
- Pasta and Rice
- Christmas Biscuits
- Christmas Pudding
- Mince Pies
- Food Items for Pets
- Christmas Treats
Please ensure all items have a use-by date after 25/12/2024. Unfortunately, we cannot accept frozen or fresh fruit and vegetables. Donations may be dropped off at Chartwell House Care Home, 26 Draco Drive, Broadstairs, CT9 4FY, and we encourage all contributions to be delivered by Monday, 9th December, to help us estimate the number of families we can support.
Diane Collins, Home Manager of Chartwell House, shared, “The Festive Food Pantry represents our deep commitment to supporting our community. During the holidays, we believe in extending a helping hand to those who need it most, and we’re grateful for everyone who makes this possible.”
Admissions Manager Jude Coveney added, “This is more than just providing food; it’s about lifting spirits, showing solidarity, and reminding families that they’re not alone. We welcome everyone who wishes to join us in this act of compassion and community care.”
