Chartwell House Joins Forces with Thanet Earth for Nutrition & Hydration Week

At Chartwell House, wellbeing is woven into daily life—from meaningful activities to the food shared around the table. Recently, this commitment came into sharper focus as the home joined care providers across the country in marking National Nutrition & Hydration Week 2025—a campaign that champions the vital role nutrition and hydration play in healthy ageing.
To celebrate the occasion, residents at Chartwell House toured greenhouses and were treated to a generous donation of vibrant, locally grown vegetables from Thanet Earth, one of the UK’s leading growers of fresh produce. The donation not only sparked delight, but also created an opportunity to connect residents with the story behind their food—where it comes from, how it’s grown, and the benefits it brings.
With their usual flair and creativity, the Chartwell House kitchen team transformed the colourful produce into a selection of nourishing dishes. From crisp, flavourful salads to a comforting homemade soup, each plate was made with care and packed with fresh ingredients that support both body and soul.
The Bistro was also brought to life with vibrant platters of seasonal fruit, offering residents an inviting space to try something new and enjoy a refreshing moment in good company. One family member, Lynda, shared afterwards: “My mother really enjoyed the different fruit in the Bistro.”
